Braemar's 1A8P style wheels are solid resin or metal bond that is ground flat with a thickness tolerance of ±.0001". These wheels are used for precision slot grinding, slicing and dicing, as well as some precision cut-off operations. Our wheels can grind ceramic, quartz, sapphire, glass, carbide, graphite, and other ferrite materials. 1A8P wheels have to be used with a set of 1A8F precision flanges. Wheel exposure should not exceed 15 times the thickness of the wheel. We can also manufacture flanges for gang wheel applications.

Flanges are available in different diameters which allows the customer to flange the wheel as it wears. The standard hole size is 1 1/4", but special hole sizes are available upon request. Braemar support flangeshave to be used with the wheel to add stability. They are available from 3" to 5 1/2" in increments of 1/2". If there is a need to have a smaller hole, Braemar offers a special Type 1A1 hole reduction flange. This wheel is used for precision slot grinding mainly in thicknesses over .050" where a thickness tolerance of +0/-.0005" is sufficient.

Braemar's 1A8SP style wheels are solid resin bond diamond that is ground flat with a special recessed flange system that has been developed for slotting up to a face plate. We make a wide of wheels for slotting 1" diameter to 300mm diameter wafers. We also build 1A8SP wheels for odd diameter carriers.
